For anyone who cares, here's what yahoo really means. Yahoo! was started by David Filo and Jerry Yang, self-proclaimed yahoos. Today, Yahoo! is a public company providing the Yahoo! service.

What is Yahoo! San Francisco Bay Area?

Yahoo! San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) is Yahoo! brought to the local level - combining the search and browsing capabilities of Yahoo! with an important sense of community.  Our goal is to be the ultimate resource for Bay Area citizens - the place you turn when you're hungry, you're lonely you just wanna talk, or you're in a hurry!

Searching Yahoo! SFBA

If you know exactly what you're looking for, try using Yahoo! SFBA search to search our entire database of Bay Area sites. Simply specify a keyword or set of keywords, and Yahoo! will search the entire database for listings that match the keys you provide. You'll find a search form or search button at the top of every Yahoo! page. If your search of Yahoo! SFBA doesn't give you the results you're looking for, you can always click on the Yahoo! logo to send your same search to the entire Yahoo! directory.

Browsing Yahoo! SFBA

If you don't have a particular internet site in mind, but want to "surf" around the entire Bay Area, Yahoo! SFBA is the place to start. From the top page, just click on a topic you want to browse and you're on your way!

  From Yahoo!'s top page menubar, you'll find links to each of the Yahoo! Features: New, Cool, Headlines, Messages and Random Link.

To return to the top page from any other Yahoo! page, just click on "Yahoo!" in the menubar.

Also, you can choose from the following menubar functions from any Yahoo! page:

• Write Us : a form interface to mail feedback and suggestions to the Yahoo! administrators. If your browser does not support forms, please send us email at webmaster@sfbay.yahoo.com.
• Add URL : to submit your own URL to be added to Yahoo! SFBA. We will validate the URL that is submitted and incorporate it into our hierarchy.
• Info : for help and information about Yahoo!. From here you can get to information about Yahoo! Corporation including announcements, press releases, contact information and advertising information; help using Yahoo! (this page); the Yahoo! FAQ , and an explanation of the Yahoo! Features.

• Navigating Around
  Throughout Yahoo!, categories are marked in bold text while end-sites are listed in plain text. To move down into the subject hierarchy, simply click on a category and the next level of the hierarchy will be displayed. To move up in the hierarchy, click on the appropriate category in the page's heading: e.g., to move up one level from Business and Stocks:Shopping:Apparel, just click on "Shopping." To move up two levels, click on "Business and Stocks."
